Do I need Cricut Access for my own font?

No. Cricut Access covers Cricut's own fonts. A font installed on your device is free to use in Design Space.

Why is my font missing after installing it?

Design Space reads the font list when it starts. Close it fully and reopen, and make sure the filter is set to System rather than Cricut.

Can I write my own words on the sheet instead of the alphabet?

SnapFont builds a full alphabet from the 72 letters, so you can type anything afterwards. Writing a phrase directly is a different job; for one-off phrases, trace an image of your writing in Design Space instead.

Your handwriting font in Cricut Design Space

Design Space shows the fonts installed on the device it is running on. Install your SnapFont font on the computer, iPhone, or iPad you design on, and it appears under System fonts in the font list.

On a computer

Export the TTF from SnapFont and send it to your computer.
Install it: double click and choose Install (Windows) or Font Book (Mac).
Restart Design Space and filter fonts by System.

On iPhone or iPad

Make your font in SnapFont (print the sheet, write it, take one photo).
Tap Install. SnapFont builds a font profile; save it to Files and open it.
Settings, General, VPN and Device Management, tap the profile, Install.
Open Design Space, add text, tap the font, and switch the filter to System.

Good to know

Handwriting fonts cut best at a size where the thinnest stroke is still a few millimetres wide. Test on scrap vinyl.
Design Space on Android only sees fonts already on the phone, and Android does not install fonts, so use the desktop app or an iPhone for this one.
Letters in a handwriting font do not connect on their own. Reduce letter spacing in Design Space, or weld only where letters actually overlap.
