Your handwriting font in Microsoft Word

Word uses the fonts installed on the device. Install your SnapFont font on the computer, or install the profile on iPhone or iPad, and it appears in Word's font dropdown.

On Windows or Mac

  1. Export the TTF from SnapFont and send it to the computer.
  2. Windows: right click the file, Install. Mac: double click, Install in Font Book.
  3. Open Word; the font is in the font list, usually near the top under recently used.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. Make your font in SnapFont (print the sheet, write it, take one photo).
  2. Tap Install. SnapFont builds a font profile; save it to Files and open it.
  3. Settings, General, VPN and Device Management, tap the profile, Install.
  4. Open Word, select text, and pick the font from the Home tab.

Good to know

  • If you send the document to someone without the font, Word substitutes another. Embed the font (File, Options, Save, Embed fonts in the file) or share a PDF.
  • Word Online uses a fixed font list and cannot show an installed font.

Questions people ask

Can I embed my handwriting font in a Word document?
Yes, on Windows and Mac: File, Options, Save, then tick Embed fonts in the file. Recipients see your font without installing it.
Does it work in Word for Android?
No. Android does not install fonts system-wide and Word for Android does not import font files. Use a PDF exported from another device.
